I bought a new book! And so far it is beyond wonderful =]

I have always enjoyed sewing, but recently I’ve wanted to learn more and sew more…so I bought this extremely helpful guide that includes some fun patterns. Hopefully soon I can post about something I have sewn!

This weekend I cam across a very cute hat, which I just had to make for myself! It’s a crocheted puffy hat =)

Here is the link and a picture from her site!

Two projects left unfinished….I don’t like leaving project unfinished, but I am stuck. The two in question are this kiwi bird I came across some months ago and the halloween pirate pal from Lion Brand Yarn.

The problem I am having with these is crocheting the feet and beak for the kiwi bird, and the legs and arms on the pirate. I don’t know why I cannot get them to work for me. I have crocheted tiny flowers and other patterns, but for some reason I am stuck. Hopefully if I keep trying I can get them to work. If you have any advice I am more than happy to listen =]

I have not one excuse for putting off blogging. I had many afternoons that I could have updated everyone about something!, but alas I let the lazy bug get me. Since my last post I have come quite a ways….

I decided to overcome some fears and prove to myself that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. So what did I decide to do? Fly! I booked a ticket and flew to Vegas! I was greeted by Ryan and his family, but I did fly all alone….which I still feel unreal about. I had a tremendous experience and am way proud of myself.

I hope I can keep up on the wonderful new knowledge that I am capable to do more than even I thought possible. On that bright note, I leave you with this….Think of something out of your comfort zone, no matter how small…maybe asking a stranger how their day was? or even giving that jerk the gift of kindness? I dunno, you decide….and let me know how it goes. Good Luck =]

My Birthday/Weekend Vacation trip to Santa Barbara, CA was wondeful. I was glad to get away and visit somewhere new. I loved the Santa Barbara Zoo! The animals were amazing and I took many pictures of all of them =] This past week has been super busy at work and just yesterday I had a horrible allergic reaction! So I spent all of today in bed asleep! Which was not very fun or relaxing. I still have much to do and I only have tomorrow to get most of it done. I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and I also hope that this week will not be too busy!

Goodnight all,
Cynthia

I am one of the biggest book worms around. That being said I have decided to add to my blog by writing small reviews and recommendations on the most recent books I have read. I have always had a passion for reading, even though I am not the best writer. I love that you can lose yourself in an entirely different world.

For my first recommendation, I chose Jennifer Weiner’s Good in Bed.Her novel is about a young women going through dramatic life changes, such as break up, pregnancy, and dealing with all the problems the world throws at her. Candice Shapiro is a lively character that deals with being overweight, having her sex life published in a magazine, and having a lesbian mother. I thought Jennifer Weiner did an excellent job tying all these issues together and making it work. Not many could pull of this kind of story. I was extremely into this novel. I also love that the book didn’t end with Candice losing a ton of weight and become the image she thought she wanted, instead she learns to be content with how beautiful and real her body is. I could not put this book down at all, I am happy that Jennifer did write a sequel, which I hope to read soon =]

After a VERY long break, I have returned to crafting! And my blog. =] I am happy to say that I started and finished a very awesome project. I have been surfing the net on my down time and came across many ideas. I found lots of very pretty fabric, that I just HAD to have! This past Saturday, as I sat eating breakfast, I decided my slump was over! Since then I worked hard on my very first apron. I used the awesome cupcake material I had bought because I am indeed a baker/awesome cupcake maker =D I couldn’t choose between the yummy brown and the tasty purple. so I made the apron reversible! woo! Here is the brown side…..

And here is the purple…..

Here is the top waist band and ties….

And here is a close up of the bottom corner, which I had sewn with right sides facing and then turned it right side out and ironed it before making it very pretty!

Well, not a huge update, but still a good one! I am hoping for a lot more of these! Hope everyone has a wonderful week, oh and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I am starting to feel that I am drowning in all of the things I need to get done! I want to do so much, but I am just one person. Where to begin!? Sometimes I just want to freeze time and work at my own pace, but the world just won’t slow down. I have to take a deep breath, take a step back and just tackle the project clostest to being finished. I will continue to try harder and harder!

For the past month I have wanted one thing in particular, but I am not sure if it is worth the investment…its the Cricut! So what do you think? I enjoy scrap booking and I would LOVE to make cards of my own. I am just not 100% sure I should spend that much…..is it worth it? I am still debating.

The new year is coming! Hooray! I am excited as I am sure millions of others are. Start making those resolutions! haha Well, I can say that I am only making one and that is to continue being optimistic as possible. =] Here is a funny picture….riding into the new year!
